Futurehome SDCO fire alarm

Introduction

The SDCO is created to detect fire and carbon monoxide in your household. It is equipped with:

  • sensors detecting temperature, humidity, heat, and carbon monoxide levels
  • a siren to warn you in case of danger

Note: The SDCO comes in two variants - battery and AC-powered.

Installation

  1. The SDCO is designed to be mounted on a ceiling using the mounting bracket. See the product user manual attached at the end of this article. Note: The power to the AC-powered SDCO must be switched off during installation.
  2. After the installation, connect the device to power:
    1. for an AC-powered device: turn on the main power switch
    2. for a battery-powered device: insert the batteries (3 x CR123)

Choosing a room on a device

  1. After connecting the SDCO to the power, the voice messages will play.
  2. Wait for the message: “To select location, press and hold the button now.”
  3. Press and hold the function button until the correct room is read out.
  4. Releasing the function button chooses a room. A message: “Programmed” will play.

Inclusion

  1. Open the Futurehome app, go to settings settings.svg → devices → add a device → select Z-Wave. You can learn more about inclusion here.
  2. Select "secure inclusion" and "include known devices faster" → start inclusion.

  3. Press the SDCO’s function button 3 times within 1.5 seconds.
  4. The device is now at the bottom of your device list → select it → setup.svg settings → give it a name and a room.

Testing

  1. Press the function button.
  2. If the SDCO works properly, the red LED will blink once, followed by a two-tone beep.

Exclusion

  1. Open the app, go to settings settings.svg → devices → SDCO → setup.svg settings → navigate to the bottom and select delete.
  2. Press the SDCO’s function button 3 times within 1.5 seconds.

Factory reset

  1. Press and hold the function button for more than 20 seconds.
  2. Release the button when you hear 3 beeps.

LED signals meaning

  • Short flash Sending signal
    Rapid flash Incipient alarm
    Flashes every second Silent alarm
    Flashes every 2 seconds Warm-up/calibration in progress
  • Flashes every second Power on/Calibration failed
    Flashes every 5 seconds Self-diagnosis failed (remove and reinsert batteries/power supply)
    Flashes every 45 seconds Low battery (change batteries)
  • Flashes every 4 seconds Critical low battery (replace batteries immediately)
    Flashes every 5 seconds Self-diagnosis failed (remove and reinsert batteries/power supply)
    Flashes every 45 seconds Low battery (change batteries)
