Exclusion - delete a device

  • Updated

Sometimes you want to delete an included device or re-enter it. Exclusion differs slightly depending on a device.

Zigbee exclusion

A Zigbee device can be easily deleted in the device settings in the app.

1. Go to settings settings.svg → devices.

2. On the list of all devices, find the one you want to delete and select it.

3. Go to setup.svg settings and then scroll down.

4. Select "delete".

5. After a successful exclusion, the app should confirm that the device has been deleted.

Z-Wave exclusion

Z-Wave exclusion is typically done by starting exclusion in the app and using the same method of activation on the device as when including it.

1. Go to settings settings.svg→ devices → remove device.

2. Tap on "start exclusion".

3. Smarthub is now in exclusion mode. You will now have a minute to perform an action on a device - usually the same as during inclusion. Typically, you will need to press one or several times the device's function button. Refer to the manufacturer's manual to check the proper method.

4. If you have any problems with exclusion, try moving closer to the Smarthub.

5. After a successful exclusion, the app should confirm that the device has been deleted.

Z-wave force delete

If regular exclusion does not work and/or the device does not have contact with the hub, you can force delete a Z-wave unit in the app.
Note: This method will not be successful if the device has contact with the hub. In that case use regular exclusion.

  1. Go to settings settings.svg → devices → select a device.
  2. Go to setup.svg settings and then scroll down.
  3. Select "force delete".
