- Go to settings
→ devices → add new device
- Chose Z-wave, Zigbee or EnOcean → start → set your device in inclusion mode (check the device manual).
- Wait until the device is included. Give it a name, place in a room and give it a function.
Our Smarthubs supports Z-wave, Zigbee or EnOcean. This varies on the different models. Information about our Smarthubs can be found in the article linked here.
Z-wave inclusion
After selecting Z-wave, you must choose the degree of security you want to use and wether it should include with template.
- Include known devices faster - With this ticked on, the device will be recognised and included faster, if it’s in our register. This can also enable necessary functions.
-
Force non-secure inclusion - This is the most common way of including and requires less processing on the Smarthub and fewer messages back and forth. Unless otherwise specified, this is preferable.
-
Secure inclusion - This is used on security products such as door locks, fire alarms and other devices that require encryption.
-
S2 inclusion with pin - This is a newer and less demanding version of secure inclusion. To use S2, the device must also support this. It should be specified in the device manual. The pin code is 5 digits and is very often stamped on the device itself.
Here is the inside of a Danalock V3. In this example the S2 pin/DSK is: 48370.
Once you have selected the security level, you can start inclusion. When the countdown starts, you can set the device in inclusion mode. This is often done by triple clicking on the device, but this varies. Therefore you should check the device manual.
Once the device is found, it will display: “Device found. Setting up...”.
-
If the device is not found, make sure that it’s within range and that the device is reset. Use the device manual to find out how to factory reset the device completely before trying to add it to the Smarthub again.
It is also possible to reset a Z-Wave device by starting exclusion from the app:
- Go to settings
→ devices → remove device → start exclusion.
- Z-Wave exclusion will start.
- Perform the same procedure on the device as when you included it. The app will start a countdown from 1 minute while searching for a device to delete.
You can read more about exclusion in the article linked here.
- Go to settings
Important notes
- Some battery devices have a tendency to fall asleep to save battery, even when including. This means you have to wake up the device again. If the device is not included within 20 seconds, set the device in inclusion mode again.
- If the device includes as zw_0_0_0, the device must be reincluded. Tap
settings → delete → set device in inclusion/exclusion mode and try again.
Zigbee inclusion
Zigbee is available on Smarthub Cube 1V1 and 2V0 (these Smarthubs have a QR-code underneath).
Go to settings → devices → add new device → Zigbee → Start. The Smarthub is now looking for devices. Set the device in inclusion mode. This is very often done by factory resetting the device. Check the device manual. When the device appears → press “Ok, done!”. Give it a name, place in a room and give it a function.
Important notes
- The Zigbee chip allows up to 70 connected devices to the Smarthub at the same time.
-
Zigbee has no security options since it has a form of secure inclusion by default.
EnOcean inclusion
EnOcean is only available on the Smarthub Cube 1V0 (Classic). Go to settings → devices → add new device → EnOcean → select device on the list → follow the instructions in the app → give it a name, place in a room and give it a function.
