For a quickstart guide to setting up your Futurehome, go to start.futurehome.io
Step 1 - Download the app
It is very easy to get started with your new home automation system from Futurehome. The first thing you will need to do is to download our app, which is available in App Store and Google play.
Futurehome supports Apple iPhone version 8 or newer, and Android based smartphones from 5 or newer.
Step 2 - Create a new user or login
If you don't already have a user, you will need to register one to be able to access the app. Register yourself by entering your name and email, followed by clicking "sign up". You will be sent an email in which you will have to activate your account.
After activating your account you can edit your personal information by clicking on your profile picture in the upper right corner of the app. This is important to ensure the best app experience possible, and it can of course be edited at any time.
After setting up your account you will need to create you household, as shown in the next step.
Step 3 - Create a new household
To create a new household, click on "create your household" in the app. It is important that you fill in the information as accurately as you can, in order for us to customize the service for your household as best as possible. You can also fill in this information later if you don't have all the details.
If an electrician has set up your Futurehome for you, it will not be necessary to create a new household. The electrician will transfer the ownership to you, and everything described below should already be taken care of. If you are installing Futurehome yourself, continue to the steps below.
Be sure to choose the correct address and map location to ensure accurate metrics such as time and date, time of sunrise/sunset, weather predictions and more location based functions.
Step 4 - Power up and pair your Smarthub to the household
Power up your Smarthub
To ensure the best possible range on you Smarthub, it should be located as central in the home as possible, preferably in the same area as your network router to easily connect the Smarthub to your home network.
Connect the Smarthub using the supplied network cable and power adapter, as shown in the pictures below. Your Smarthub will now start automatically, and may take up to 2 minutes. During the startup phase there will be a bright purple light by the Futurehome logo on the Smarthub. When the startup phase is complete, the light will turn pink and slightly dimmer.
Pair your Smarthub to the household
To pair your Smarthub to the household, click on "add Smarthub" on the dashboard in the app. Ensure that the Smarthub is powered up and connected to the network, and follow the instructions in the app. You can either pair the Smarthub by scanning the QR-code or by manually entering the serial number, which are both located on the bottom of the Smarthub. If your have an older Smarthub without QR-Code, please follow this guide.
If your Smarthub was successfully paired, you can proceed to the next step and add your first device!
